Leading private health insurer HBA have announced an exciting new partnership with Australia’s premier bike challenge, HBA Around the Bay in a Day.
The event promotes the importance of a healthy lifestyle and will raise funds for The Smith Family’s programs helping to support disadvantaged children.
The 2010 event, which will be held on Sunday 17 October in Melbourne, is expected to attract more than 16,000 bike riders.
Now in its 18th year, HBA Around the Bay in a Day has grown from 2500 participants in 1993 to more than 15,000 last year.

In 2007 we launched a new marathon MTB event in Woodend Victoria, the BMC and in two short years, it became one of the premier marathon events in Victoria. For 2010 it will be re-branded, and both events will now fall under the "Dirt Works 100k Classic" banner and will be titled accordingly.
With assistance from the Wombat Mountain Bike Club, the Dirt Works 100km Classic - VIC is one of the most exciting MTB marathon events in Australia! The event is staged from the picturesque Cammeray Waters at Woodend in Victoria, only one hour’s drive from central Melbourne and 40 minutes from the airport.
The course will traverse the popular riding location of the Wombat State Forest and adjacent private property with a mix of fast fire trail, forest riding and up to 50% technical and flowing single track. There are absolutely no tarmac, guaranteed!
Riders have the option to ride the full 100km or the 50km half course. There is also an 18km course for junior riders under the age of 16 years.
